“Through partnering with the RSL to launch this program, we hope to educate young Australians about the sacrifices of our nation’s servicemen, while rewarding some of Queensland’s highest achieving students with the financial assistance and support they need to bring their ambitions to life.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Team or group applications

At this time group or team applications are not available.
However, teams and groups are more than welcome to apply for grants on an individual basis. All students involved in a particular project may apply for a grant but it is important applicants have different goals/objectives that they would like to achieve. Please visit www.rslyouth.com.au/ for more details on how to apply.
Those students who submit the strongest applications will be awarded (not the group) and they will not be able to direct their funding sideways.

Multiple grant applications

Students may only apply for one of the three grants each year. If a student feels their achievements span multiple categories, please have them select the category they feel they have the highest level of achievement in.

Non-Queensland Students
No applications will be accepted from students studying in other states. Students must be enrolled in and attend a Queensland school and currently studying in Year 10 or Year 11 to be eligible to apply for a grant.

Cost

There is no application fee associated with the program.

Payment of grant

Once awarded an RSL Youth Development Program grant, to receive payment before the project starts, recipients will need to supply an official quotation of the total cost of their project. To receive payment after their project is complete, recipients will need to supply all invoices for their total project cost. The RSL will pay the total amount awarded by cheque.

Expiration date of grant

Applicants must fulfil their project before December 2010.
